Bryant’s Story

“Being by myself, quiet and at peace, offers an escape from the world, no phone calls, people asking you questions or rushing around with the hectic duties of life, just a break in the peace and quiet, 30 feet closer to God.” -Bryant

I started hunting because my dad did his whole life and his dad and so on, hunting has been in this family for generations so it’s just something we’re born into and as we go we develop the love and drive for it. We also give some of the venison we harvest to families that need help financially, it’s not much but it’s a quick, easy, delicious, and free meal for them.

I have a lot of really fun memories when it comes to hunting, one of my favorites would have to be when I shot my 11 point buck 2 years ago in archery. I was sitting by myself and he came in hot on a doe. during the rut when I shot him. After I gave him a little time to settle down I dropped out of my tree stand. My dad, sister, and brother were also hunting that day so they came over and helped me track him. And after about an hour of tracking him we found him and my dad gave me a huge hug and was so happy for me. My grandparents were also not far, so they came and they were both so happy for me as well, it was such a good feeling. The joy and happiness and excitement that everyone was sharing was truly special.

Hunting has changed so much for me, it’s provided me with uncountable new friends and buddies, it’s allowed me to travel around the state to hunt, but most of all, as a Christian I find so much peace and comfort when I’m in the woods. Being by myself, quiet and at peace, offers an escape from the world, no phone calls, people asking you questions or rushing around with the hectic duties of life, just a break in the peace and quiet, 30 feet closer to God.
